La Stagione Frankfurt conducted by prominent Maestro Michael Schneider will take us into an extraordinary journey.
One of the aims of the festival is presenting interesting works of art, which are rarely associated with popular concert halls. On this basis, the German musicians under the banner of “Zauber der Flöte” (“Magic Flute”) will unravel the fascinating secrets of the compositions, which originated nearly three centuries ago.
The lead part of the pieces selected for that evening will be performed on flute. During the concert, we will get to enjoy the work of wonderful German creators representing the age of baroque: J.G. Graun, J.J. Quantz, G.P. Telemann and an Italian master: Antonio Vivaldi himself. The perfect implemention of flute parts will be provivded by Michael Schneider (recorder), who also acts as the conductor, and Karl Kaiser (flute). It is also a unique opportunity to listen to uncommon sounds of a harpsichord, a different instrument typical of early music. This so-called “ancestor of piano” was falling into gradual oblivion during the late eighteenth century, and its rediscovery transpired in the mid-twentieth century, with Wanda Landowska, one of the most promiment harpsichordist in the history, among its greatest benefactors.
